She was the eldest daughter of Ebenezer Bishop and Anna Lewis Bishop. Her sister, Nancy D. Bishop and brother, Dr. J. Leander Bishop are also buried in Oak Hill Cemetery. On December 9, 1840 she married Edward Young at Greenwich, Horton, Nova Scotia. They were the parents of Anna Maria Young born May 1, 1842;
Charles Edward Young born March 23, 1844;
Clarence Bishop Young born February 3, 1846;
William Henry Young born March 1853.
