She was born May 10, 1915 in McHenry, N.D. , to John Henry and Anna Agnes Huiting.
Anna graduated from high school in Grace City, N.D.
She married Leo Garfield Leir in Carrington, N.D. on June 29, 1935. They moved to Libby in July 1942.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Anna was also active in the Libby Senior Citizens. An Atlanta Braves fan. Ann enjoyed playing pinochle and watching her team win. She loved to walk with her husband and their dog Heidi.
Survivors include her husband in Libby; sons Kermit Jerome Leir, Twin Falls, Idaho and Terry Wade Leir, Libby; daughters-in-law Joan Leir, Twin Falls, and Robin Leir, Vernon, B.C.; brother Theodore Huiting and his wife Julie, Little Chute, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Kevin, Julie and Jeff Leir, Twin Falls; Bill and Lisa Leir and Scott Leir, Vernon; Mary Leir, Kelowna, B.C., and Joe and Kathleen Leir Piazza, Boston, Mass.; three great-grandchildren, Caleb Leir, Kermit, Texas; Chris and Brady Leir, Vernon, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was from 1-8 p.m. Monday at the Nelson & Via Funeral Home. Services were conducted at the funeral home chapel at 10a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Charles Couch officiating.
Interment followed in the City of Libby Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Libby Senior Citizens Center.
