David Weaver, who died February 28, was 88 years, 11 months and three days and made home with his son for four years before his death. Mr. Weaver was born in Anderson County, Ky., and lived there until 1863. He then moved to Whittley County, KY, and lived there until 1871. From there, he moved with his family to Kansas City; and in 1883, he came back to Benton County. He lived there until his death. He was married to Miss Freeley Childress, and to this union were born eleven children, of whom there are only four living. His wife died in Siloam Springs, Sept 27, 1894. Grandpa Weaver, as he was usually called, was converted when quite young and united with the Baptist Church, and has lived a consistent Christian life - ever ready to speak a comforting word and lend a helping hand. His constant prayers and counsel was to others, especially his family, to live in if this life as to be prepared for eternal glory. He lived as he died, in perfect peace.
