Clyde Fowler, Longtime County Resident, Dies
Funeral services for Clyde Fowler, 80, longtime Hall County resident and retired farmer, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, in the First United Methodist here with the Rev. Phillip Hadley pastor of the Lakeview United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial was in the Union Hill Cemetery at Lakeview under the direction of Spicer Funeral Home.
Mr. Fowler died Sunday, Feb. 2, in Hall County Hospital.
Clyde Fowler was born Sept. 1, 1894, in Lyon County, Ky. After coming to Hall County in 1915, he had farmed near the Lesley Community and had been a Memphis resident since 1962. Mr. Fowler was a member of the Methodist Church.
He is survived by three sons, Johnny and Carroll, both of Lakeview, and K. Doyle of Arlington; one daughter, Mrs. Bill Gibson of Lakeview; one sister, Mrs. Edna Crowder of Memphis; one brother, Ennis R. of Memphis; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pall bearers were Aubrey Martin, Don Hancock, Joe Montgomery, Charlie Murff, Don Cockrell, Danny Scarbrough, J.W. Coppedge and Joe Neal Berry.
Honorary pall bearers were J.J. Hunter, Billy Morgan Salmon, O.M. Hancock, Dr. O.R. Goodall, Mrs. Sylvia Alewine, Miss Freddie Starr Johnson, Mrs. Boyce Bruce, Del Wells, Paul Montgomery, Frank W. Foxhall, Charlie Slaughter, Quilla Clark and J.O. Adams.
