Owengene Blackwood, 88, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, in Cleburne,Texas. He was the son of Will and Julia (Lightfoot) Blackwood. He married Helen Pettigrew in Dallas on 10 Aug,1951. Gene owned and operated Blackwood Airpark and Blackwood Sand & Gravel. Gene was a flight instructor for over 6o years and an accomplished pilot.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Blackwood of Cleburne; two sons, Larry and William Blackwood, three grandsons, Jeff, Jason, and Dane Blackwood. Gene also leaves behind his faithful dog "Booger".
