Eileen E. Parkhurst, nee Kelley, age 86, passed away peacefully at Smith Crossing, in Orland Park, on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, born in Moline, IL, living in Orland Park for the past three years, Manhattan for 10 years prior, coming from Riverdale, IL. Eileen, with her husband, owned and operated Parkhurst Florist in Roseland from 1953 to 1968. She was also a teletypist for US Steel for many years. Her lovely use of words was enjoyed by all. She is survived by dearest Aunt Pauline and numerous cousins; beloved nephew and niece, John and Ingrid Dahlgren; four great nephews; three great nieces and numerous great great nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Vernon Parkhurst and her parents, Edward and Ravae Kelley. Family will receive friends at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel , 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services Monday, Dec. 28, 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim McGuire officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Chicago. For information 815-806-2225.
