Anton Wollersheim, 74, of 721 Huron Ave., a retired Sheboygan carpenter contractor, died Tuesday at St. Nicholas Hospital after a lingering illness.
A son of the late Mathias and Mary Wollersheim, he was born Dec. 6, 1882, at Hewitt, Wis. His marriage to Clara Pfeifer was performed at Ss. Peter and Paul Church at Kiel by Rev. Father Bertram, a cousin of Mr. Wollersheim, on May 23, 1905. The couple celebrated its golden wedding anniversary in 1955. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Wollersheim resided in Milwaukee for two years, then lived in Kiel for two years before moving to Sheboygan in 1910. Mr. Wollersheim was active as a carpenter contractor until his retirement seven years ago. He was a faithful member of Holy Name Church, the Holy Name Society of the parish and the AFL Carpenters' Local 657.
Survivors are his wife; four brothers, Peter of Sheboygan, Joseph of Valders, William of Louis Corners and Louis of Manitowoc. A son, Gilbert, died in 1924 and a sister also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at Holy Name church, Rev. Anthony J. Knackert, pastor will be the celebrant of the solemn requiem mass, and burial will be in the family lot in Calvary Cemetery.
