William A. Wollersheim, 71, Rt. 1, Kiel, died Friday morning at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan, after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, and at 10 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, St. Nazianz, the Rev. Wickhert Lenweber officiating. Burial will be in St. Gregory Catholic Church Cemetery, St. Nazianz.
He was born Feb. 26, 1887, son of the late Mathew and Mary Kautzer Wollersheim at Marshfield. Three years later the family moved to St. Nazianz.
On Oct. 18, 1910, he married the former Emilia Kaltenbrunn of St. Nazianz.
The couple was engaged in farming at Sheboygan and the Town of Schleswig for 43 years, purchasing a tavern at Louis Corners, near Cedar Lake five years ago.
He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church of School Hill and the church Holy Name Society.
He is survived by his wife, four sons, Arnold and Alfred of Manitowoc, Erwin of Louis Corners and Frederick of Rt. 2, Kiel; three brothers, Peter of Sheboygan, Joseph of Valders and Louis of Manitowoc; 20 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence, in December, 1949, and a sister and brother.

Wollersheim, William Alexander (Feb. 26, 1887-Dec. 19, 1958 –husband of Amillia Kaltenbrun [married Oct. 18, 1910 at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –son of Mathias Wollersheim and Mary Kautzer –born Hewitt, Wood County –moved with his parents to St. Nazianz in 1890 –farmer –owner of the Louis Corners Tavern from 1953 to his death –on Feb. 16, 1928 purchased 20 acres of cedar swamp from Arthur Oesau in Section 29, Town of Eaton –these 20 acres were just north of the intersection of Highway 67 and Cedar Road –held this land until his death in 1958 –his widow Amillia then sold this land to Willard and Helen Hahn on July 23, 1959 –died from "acute congestive heart failure, arteriosclerotic heart failure and generalized arteriosclerosis") – 4-7-6
