Drachenberg, Julius

Funeral services for Julius Drachenberg, 78, of Rt. 1, Beasley were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the Calvary Baptist Church of Rosenberg. The Rev. W. Fred Sanderlin officiated.

Mr. Drachenberg, who was born in Russia, passed away Sunday morning at his home after an extended illness. He was 16 years of age when he came to the United States from Klev, Russia in 1904. His family settled in Tavener. He was a farmer until his retirement in 1950.

Survivors inclue his wife, Mrs. Ceola O'Neal Drachenberg of Tavener; three sons, R.B. Drachenberg of Needville. Cecil Drachenberg of Alvin and Dayton Drachenberg of Arlington, Va; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Lamkin of Rosenberg and Mrs. Elizabeth Zatopek of La Grange; three step-sons, L.L. O'Neal of Wharton, Willard O'Neal of Canoga Park, Calif., and Wilmer O'Neal of Tulsa, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Emilia Walzel od East Bernard, Miss Ida Drachenberg of Houston and Emma Kalwelt of Beasley; 27 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Burial was in the W.O.W. Cemetery in Rosenberg. Funeral services were under the direction of Garmany & Co. Funeral Directors in Rosenberg.
