Funeral for Louis G. Brandies Sr., 43, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the First
Baptist Church in Callahan with Rev.David J. Lundin, pastor officiating. Burial
was in Jones Cemetery.
Mr. Brandies who made his home in Callahan, passed away last Thursday evening in
a Jacksonville hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was a native of Callahan and had resided there most of his life. He was owner
of D&L Bottled Gas Co., a member of the First Baptist Church, Callahan Lodge 32
F&AM, the York Rite Bodies, Morocco Temple of the Shrine and the Gator Shrine
Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Doris Hodges Brandies; a daughter, Mrs. Sheryl
L. Newman; a son, Louis G. Brandies Jr., all of Callahan; three sisters, Mrs.
Eva Collins, Mrs. Louise Taylor, both of Jacksonville, and Mrs. Irma Holton of
Glen St. Mary; two brothers,Thomas Marvin Brandies and Wayne Blair Brandies,
both of Callahan, and several nieces and nephews.
