Aberdeen - Feb. 2 1959 - James Samuel Brown, 57, of Route 1, Aberdeen, died today at his home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Pine Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. C. Parker Thomas. Burial will be in Ashley Heights Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, the former Nettie Lamb; five daughters, Mrs. Lewis Wilkes of Newport News, Va., Mrs. Gene Hoxworth of Southern Pines, Mrs. Keith Stocum of New York City, Miss Gloria Brown of Kinston and Miss Minetta Brown of the home, six sons, James of Bolivia, Otha of Fernando Beach, Fla., Lloyd of Groton, Conn., and Bobby, Johnny and Gene of the home; 16 grandchildren; his father, M. C. Brown of Route 1, Aberdeen; seven brothers, Paul of Los Angeles, Calif., Lonnie of St. Augustine, Fla., George of Supply, Frank of Falls Church, Va., and Barney, John and Grover of Route 1, Aberdeen; four sisters, Mrs. Estelle Thomas of Greensboro and Mrs. Virgie Donathan of Sanford; Mrs. Fronie Potter of Supply and Mrs. Alberta Bass of Route 1, Aberdeen.
