Franca (Nona) Franz Petho

Ms. Franca was born on October 21, 1923 in Moggio Udinese, Italy and had been a resident of the Hungarian Settlement, Louisiana since 1947. She passed away at her residence on Thursday, October 22, 2009 surrounded by her children, family and friends. Ms. Franca was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church, a charter member of Tucker A. Gregoire American Legion Auxiliary Unit 258 of Springfield, a member of La BOUTIQUE DES HUT CHAPEAUX ET QUARANTE FEMMES OF THE 80 AND 40 Salon 114 and the Hungarian Settlement Historical Society.

She is survived by her daughters, Juliana Petho Roberson and Laura Petho Johnson; son, Alexander J. Petho, Jr. and wife Debbie; brother, Renato Franz of Australia; sisters-in-law, Ruby Petho and Velma Kovach. Ms. Franca is also survived by her grandchildren, Angela Kraft and husband Michael, Dawn DePaula and husband Michael, William Kropog and wife Heather, Shane Kropog and wife Jeanne, Alex Petho and wife Heather, Craig Petho and wife Desirae; step-grandchildren, Eddie Johnson, Bryan and Tiffany Johnson Smith, Donald and Hope Roberson, David Roberson, Pavel Danielle Roberson Wascom, Bryan and Carol Pigott, Derek and Tana Pigott; ten great-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ms. Franca in death were her husband, Alexander J. Petho, Sr.; parents, Silvio and Angelina Tolassi Franz; sister, Irene Sossi; sons-in-law, Edward Johnson and James Daniel Roberson.
