Lake Providence, July 30 - Funeral services for Willie Leggett, Jr., 24, of Transylvania, who was killed in a three-car collision in Lake Charles early Thurday during a heavy rain, will be held at 3 p.m. today in the Transylvania Baptist Church. The Rev. O. C. Cannon and the Rev. Warren Davenport will officiate. Interment will be in Lake Providence Cemetery, under direction of the Catron-Gay Funeral Home.
Survivors include the parents of the deceased, Mr. and Mrs. Will Leggett of Transylvania; two brothers, Elbert Leggette of Lake Providence and Pvt. James L. Leggett of El Paso; and eight sisters, Mrs. Hazel Chapman of Lake Providence, Mrs. Ruby Whatley, Mrs. Tiny Simmons, Mrs. Mary Richardson and Mrs. Virginia Baker, all of Vicksburg, Miss., Miss Estelle Leggette of Tampa, Fla., and the Misses Annie and Barbara Leggette of Transylvania.

Uncle Willie was injured in the Korean War, he was sent to Japan to recuperate and then returned to the war to complete his tour.
After his tour was over, Willie returned home. After being home for two weeks, he drove to Lake Charles, LA to visit friends, had a car wreck and died from the wreck.
He was 24 years old when he died.
