They lived in a mansion at 534 Summit Avenue. All 4.5 miles of Summit Avenue are on the National Register. Clark's home was built in 1884 and still stands today, and is worth almost 2 million dollars. It is gorgeous.
*****
Robert Clark's nephew wrote a book about his family line and in it he tells the story of a letter written by Elizabeth to Homer. Apparently after Thomas Clark was born, Elizabeth became ill and thought she would die. She wrote a letter to Homer to be opened upon her death. She didn't die and the letter remained unopened for over seventy years. Homer never saw the letter, it was opened by the family.
