The former Emma Schleunes was born Aug. 27, 1890 in the Town of Schleswig, a daughter of the late August and Anna Borngesser Schleunes. She attended the district school at Millhome and was married to Arthur Rosenthal of Elkhart Lake on Oct. 27, 1914.
The couple farmed in the Town of Rhine until retiring in 1957. Following the death of her husband on Oct. 31, 1964, she resided at Rocky Knoll until being hospitalized this week.
On Oct. 27, 1964, the couple observed their 50th wedding anniversary.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Edward (Harriet) Schaap of Plymouth, Mrs. Alden (Ardell) Voland of rural Cleveland, and Mrs. Dalhart (Judy) Freis of Kiel; four sons, Arthur A. Jr. and Frederick H., both of Sheboygan, Louis of R. 1, Elkhart Lake, and Ruben of Plymouth; 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Two infant children, three grandchildren and one sister and one brother preceded her in death.
