[Note: Since the death certificate we've found only uses the initials "J.W.", it is not clear if the certificate refers to John W. Nibel, or his brother Joseph Wilburt Nibel. More research is being done to prove whether this death was John W. or Joseph Wilburt Nibel.]

He passed away after his wife's death in 1924, perhaps in Mexico.
Joseph Wilburt Nibel was born ca 1865 as estimated from censuses but he claimed to have been born in 1871, so clearly there is a conflict in dates.

Resided in Mexico from 1893- Oct 1914.
Also lived in Sutherland Springs, TX.

1920 Passport for Joseph Wilbur Nibel shows birth date as 19 Mar 1871, born in Dayton, Lucas County, Iowa. Middle name is not written clearly. It could be Wilburt or Wilburn as well as Wilbur.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Nibel will leave Tuesday for Havana, Cuba. Mr. Nibel is the owner of mines and oil lands in Mexico.
