Mrs. Weissgerber Dies On Tuesday At Home In Elkhart
Elkhart Lake—Mrs. Katherine Weissgerber, 83, passed away at her home here Tuesday night following an attack of pneumonia. Mrs. Weissgerber was born on Sept. 14, 1859, in the town of Meeme, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Schreiber. She was married to Karl Weissgerber of Milwaukee and resided there for 25 years before moving to a farm near Kiel and later to Elkhart Lake. She was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed church of Elkhart Lake. Her husband and three children preceded her in death.
Surviving are five children, Karl at home; Walter of Milwaukee; Mrs. A. (Alma) Steinecker of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Mrs. Albert (Lillian) Popp of Elkhart Lake; Mrs. Emil (Anna) Scholl of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, John Schreiber of Markesan, and four sisters, Mrs. Fred (Anna) Koethel, Mrs. Augusta Scheib, Mrs. Martin (Louisa) Gesch, and Miss Emma Schreiber; 19 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held in the Robert Horneck Funeral home and at the Community church, Elkhart Lake. The Rev. Frank Lowenberg will officiate, with burial in the Kiel cemetery.
