Mrs. Elfrieda Schreiber, age 88, of 38 East Paine Street, Kiel, passed away Thursday November 26, at Calumet Medical Center, Chilton after being a patient for the past six days.
`The former Elfrieda Reichwaldt was born March 24, 1899, in the Town of Schleswig, the daughter of the late Carl and Albertine Roesler Reichwaldt. She attended district school in the Town of Schleswig, and on March 29, 1919 she married Paul Schreiber at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, in the Town of Schleswig. The couple observed their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1974. Mr. Schreiber died January 10, 1975. The couple lived in the Town of Meeme for one year before moving to the Town of Schleswig where they farmed until retiring in 1978. Mrs. Schreiber was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ and its Ladies Aid.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Melvin (Lucille), rural Kiel, three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Casper, Kiel; Mrs. Evelyn (Cyril) Buckhardt, Elkhart Lake; Mrs. Carol (Jerome) Balz, rural Kiel; twenty grandchildren; thirty seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; four step great grandchildren and two step great great grandchildren. Mrs. Schreiber was preceded in death by two brothers.
