BURLINGTON - Mrs. Edna Humphries Talley, 82, of 914 Stokes St., died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at 10:55 a.m. following two weeks of failing health.

A native of Cabarrus County, she was the wife of the late John H. Talley and the daughter of Garland H. Humphries and Bessie Crisco Humphries, both deceased. She retired from the Merita Bread Store and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughter, Glenda Flynt of Liberty; four sons, Garland Morris and wife Tina of Burlington, Donald Morris of Florida, Ernest "Dink" Morris and Larry Turner, both of Burlington; a step-daughter, Pamela T. Fogleman of Caswell County; a step-son, Jimmy C. Talley of Caswell County; a sister, Dorothy Freshwater and husband Bill of Graham; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Michael Thompson; one sister; and one brother.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at 2 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
At other times, the family will be at the residence, 914 Stokes St., Burlington, N.C.
