"Church Book of St. Paul's Evan. Congregation" by P.A. Zeller -- Burials, 1910.
November 22 - Friedrich Dalhauser died November 22, 9 a.m., after a long, serious illness, in child-like faith. He was born January 17, 1843 at Sertheim, Upper District of Vahingen, Wurttemberg, the son of Jacob Dalhauser and his wife Maria nee Mayer. In 1870 he emigrated to America and was married the same year to Wilhelmine Abel who had come to this country with him and they settled on the farm in Dallas Tp. where he now died. Their marriage produced 11 children, 4 boys and 7 girls of whom 2 died as infants. In 1886, 4 died within a month of diptheria. He began to fail in the last 10 years, and during the last year he was very ill. In his last weeks, he was really singled out "in the oven of misery" and there sought and found his Savior. Two weeks before his death, he requested and received, in true devotion, holy communion and so died, even though in great pain, in joyful peace, at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 5 days. He is survived by his grieving widow, 1 son, 4 daughters and 4 grandchildren. The burial was on Thanksgiving Day on the new cemetery.
