"Ardell Reid Vander Meyden, 68, passed away unexpectedly July 11, 1998 in Salt Lake City, Utah of an aneurism.
She was born October 28, 1929 in Alamosa, Colorado to James Reid and Julia Estelle Morton. Graduated from Davis High School and LDS Business College. Married Howard Vander Meyden, Oct. 13, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple.
She was the loving mother of Craig (Rosemary) Vander Meyden, Debra Rigby, Kim (Micki) Vander Meyden, Lance Vander Meyden, Karen Dall, Cynthia (David) Scharp. She had a great affection for her 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was a devoted member of the LDS Church, spending many years as Relief Society President and currently very active in the family history program. She was a wonderful wife and loved unconditionally; helping all who crossed her path. Her life was one of service that inspired others to follow her example. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Howard; children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters: Merle Reid, Willadene Fabray, Morris (Donetta) Reid, Bruce (Margene) Reid, Lucille (Rawney) Ellis, Lola (DeWayne) Lambert, Wanda Parker. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dennis and Wayne Reid.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at 11 a.m. at the Kearns 16th Ward Chapel, 5025 West 4865 So. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South and again at the church on Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 prior to the services. Interment at Valley View Memorial Park.
