Joe Franklin Cooling Sr., of Devers, Texas died Saturday, January 22, 2005 at the Liberty-Dayton Hospital in Liberty, Texas.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Abshier Cemetery in Hankamer, Texas with Rev. Rodney Parden officiating. Visitation was Tuesday, January 25, 2005 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas.
Mr. Cooling was born in League City, Texas to parents, Newell Lacy Cooling and Edith Genieve Seammen Cooling. He was a former resident of Baytown, Texas and he lived in the area since 1992. Joe was married to the former Judith Detro. He enjoyed fishing, and raising cattle. Joe was employed by the City of Baytown.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Newell L. (Buddy) and Roy Cooling and one sister, Jennie Pearl Cooling.
Joe is survived by his wife, Judith, sons; Joe F. Cooling Jr. of Devers, Texas, Timmy Allen Cooling Sr., Lacy Weldon Cooling and wife Penny all of Dayton, and Tony Marshall Cooling and wife Marsh of Baytown. Two sisters; Betty Alexander and husband Dick of Pasadena, Texas, and Bonnie Daigle and husband, Jesse of Clute, Texas, and brothers, Bill Cooling and wife Judy of Livingston, Texas, Johnny Cooling and wife Rolena, Robert Cooling and wife Gayle of Baytown, Texas and sister-in-law, Dailey Cooling of Coldspring, Texas, also survive. Grandchildren: Timmy Allen Cooling Jr., Joe Cooling III, Kevin Scott Koehler, Cody Wayne Cooling, James George Koehler, Brittney Michelle Cooling, Lacy Weldon Cooling Jr., Taylor Ryan Cooling and Matthew Blake Cooling also survive him.
