He was married to Mrs. Gertrude (Pare) Santos with whom he would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on November 25. The son of Charles and Mary (Farley) Santos. He was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1952, and attended Worcester Academy.


He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War earning the rank of Corporal. He was honorably discharged in June of 1961.


He was co-owner of Charles Santos and Sons Wholesale Meats of Lowell, and also worked in Transportation Management Dept. at Hanscom AFB in Bedford until his retirement in 1999. He was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Lowell.


Mr. Santos was an avid golfer and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Golf Club, Lodge of Elks, and VFW Post 662, all in Lowell. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.


Besides his wife, Gertrude, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Frederick and Linda Santos, Thomas Santos and his partner, Tony Ruzzo; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Ellen and Richard Cote, Cheryl Bousquet; a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Theresa Santos; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Edward Silva; seven grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and close family friends. He was predeceased by his siblings, Charles, Edward, Kenneth, and Dorothy Santos, and predeceased by his son in-law, Robert Bousquet.
