Mrs. Cross was born in New Milford, Conn., on Dec. 19, 1929, a daughter of the late Charles and Lucy (Smally) Thompson. She was a longtime Naugatuck resident and a member of the Naugatuck United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo with her great-granddaughter, Kayla, and enjoyed shopping. "She could hang with the best.
She leaves a son, James H. Cross Sr. of Colorado; three daughters, Judy Lubanda and Cathy Cross, both of Naugatuck, Sherrie Willson of Colorado; a sister, Harriet Delrosso of New Milford; 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
