Mary Elizabeth was the daughter of Ezekiel and Elizabeth Chambers. She apparently was born in Texas Co. MO the same year that her parents, Ezekiel and Elizabeth Chambers, moved from Cole Co. She met her husband Darius at the Maramec Iron Works where they both lived and worked. They married at Maramec in 1866 had 13 children 11 living to adulthood. A granddaughter later said that Mary was known to be very industrious and worked diligently in her church and home.
