A. T. RUMMEL DEAD
Alexander T. Rummel Succumbs to Paralysis After a Long Illness
Alexander T. Rummel passed away yesterday morning, Mar. 10, at the home of his son in this city after a lingering illness. Death resulted from paralysis.

Mr. Rummel was born April 12, 1837, (s/b 1838). He was a veteran of the civil war, serving three years and nine months. His first service was in Company 1, Sixty-Fifth New York state volunteers, in which command he took part in the peninsular campaign. He was wounded and taken prisoner at Malvern Hill July 2, 1862, and was confined in Libby prison for three weeks. After being released he re-enlisted in Company F, Twenty-Second veteran reserve corps.
Comrade Rummel had been in failing health for several years and some months ago received an increase in pension. He has been a resident of Sherman county for eleven years, and was a good citizen, and his friends will be pained to hear of his demise.
Mr. Rummel is survived by his wife and son, A. D. Rummel, the present county clerk.
The funeral will be held at two o'clock today.
