The daughter of Walter Duncan and Alta Elizabeth Donnie/Downey, Maxine lived in St. Louis County, Missouri with her family.

From an early age, Maxine was disabled. She suffered from chronic heart disease.

Maxine died 8 days after her 11th birthday. She was buried on 02 Apr 1934 and was survived by her mother, father and 1 sister.

Her homemade marker has marbles and pieces of a toy tea set embedded near the top. A few empty indentations indicate that some of the decorations have been lost over the years.
