Albert was born October 15, 1864 to John Calvin and Amanda Catherine (Collings) Broady in Underwood, Scott Co. IN

His siblings were Martin L. Broady, Leander Broady, Asa Abraham Broady, Florence Broady and Boon Broady. His half siblings were Sarah Jeminah (Broady) Rayburn, Wilford Broady and Jane E. (Broady) Richey.

He married Eliza Jane Rose on April 12, 1885 in Scottsburg, Scott Co. IN.

They had fourteen children;
