Abner Applegate, former notary public, was born in Hubbard Township, Trumbull Co., Ohio, October 26, 1826, a son of the late William and Mary (Huff) Applegate, and died August 7, 1889 at Sharon. Abner grew up in his native township, and on the 18th of May, 1841, located in Sharon. He was married February 12, 1854, to Miss Marilda Hibler, of Hubbard Township, Trumbull Co., Ohio, who survives him. They were the parents of three children: Mary E., wife of Hiram F. Dickson; William C. and Dorothy, wife of George W. Lycett, of Tiltonville, Ohio.
