Married William Black (1776-1817) in Wigton, Cumberland County, England in 1802. He died and was buried in Wigton before Margaret Black, her five children and Margaret's brothers and their families came to America in 1822.

Originally buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Cumberland County in northern England is now known as Cumbria County.
