Larry G. Busby, Sr.
Larry G. Busby, Sr., age 68, passed away January 13, 2010 in Texas.
He was born February 18, 1941 in Webb City to Robert and Bernice (Collier) Busby and attended Webb City schools.
He moved to Dallas in 1981, where he resided, until his passing.
Larry married Gerry Thomas January 5, 1967 in Aledo, Ill, and she survives of the home.
He was a member of the Church on the Rock in Dallas.
Larry fought heart problems for years that he was never able to overcome.
He loved to fish and to watch his sons race their dirt track cars.
Throughout his life, he lived in Kansas City, MO for many years, spent some time in Alaska working construction and in Sedalia and Illinois before moving to Texas.
Larry was a third degree Mason and a member of Moose Lodge in Sedalia, Mo.
He was also a soccer coach for several years in Sedalia.
Larry had a fence company, a construction company and a sprinkler system company.
Larry is also survived by 3 sons, Larry Busby, Jr., Paul Busby and Darryl Birdsong; 2 daughters, Peggy Epperson and Jamie Peterson all of Texas; brother, Gene Busby of Webb City; 2 sisters, Elma Hammond of Webb City and Phyllis Winkler (sic) [Winckler] of Wyoming; 3 half-sisters, Brenda, Sheila and Sandra of Illinois; 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Larry touched many lives and he will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services for Larry will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Simpson Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 : 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Friends Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
