Hugo Rathjen of 510 East 30th Street in Davenport, Iowa died at Mercy Hospital after and extended illness.
He married Wilma Clara Hinselman in Davenport on December 3, 1919. To this union no children were born.
Mr. Rathjen served as Scott County Assessor for many years. The couple then farmed in the Plainview area until retiring and moving to Davenport in 1944.
Hugo Rathjen served with the U. S. Army in World War I. He was a charter member of the American Legion Post 353 in Dixon, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, a brother, Harry, and a sister, Ella Friederichs, both of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Horace, in infancy; one half-brother, Albert Rathjen; and one half-sister, Helene Jensen.
Funeral services were held in the Runge Chapel. Burial was in the Fairmount Mausoleum. Gravesite military rights were conducted by the Dixon American Legion.
