Private 44393, 16th Yorks & Lancs Regiment he later transferred in the Labour Corps as Pte 6766 died aged 40. whilst employed at Sherwood Colliery, possibly with an injury from the war. Son of William & Eliza of [1901 census] 15 Newgate Lane, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire and husband of Mary Ann nee Coleman who he married in 1906 and were residing at 60 Ratcliffegate, Mansfield. He served with the same regiment with the following army numbers, 6568, 104828 He left a wife and four children
