Services for Carl Smith, 80, of Kilgore were held Monday, October 24 at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel in Santa Anna with the Rev. Clarence Smith, pastor of Bible Baptist church of Coleman officiating. Burial was in Santa Anna Cemetery.
Mr. Smith died Saturday, October 22, 1989 at Medical Center Hospital, Tyler. He was born August 9, 1909 in Coleman County to Henry and Cinda Widner Smith. He was raised in Coleman County leaving here in 1949. He married Elva Wells in Coleman County, March 10, 1930. He was an auto mechanic and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Elva Smith of Kilgore; two sons, Delbert Smith of Kilgore and Jimmy Smith of Dalhart; sister, Mrs. Mae McFarlin of Santa Anna; two half-sisters, Mrs. Winnie Bennet, Fairfield and Mrs. Betty Williams, Houston; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A grandson, Terry smith preceded him in death in 1978.
Pallbearers were Justin Mitchell, Dirk Mitchell, Billy Ferguson, Carlton Smith, Rickey Smith and Delbert Smith."
