CHARLES EDWARD GARTIN
Son of John and Rosa Gartin was born in Lucas county, Iowa, Jan. 14, 1894 and passed away at the family home in Fresno, Calif., March 15, 1954 at the age of 60 years, two months and one day.
On Nov. 29, 1917 he was united in marriage to Rose M. Gray. This home was blessed with three sons, Charles Jr., of Chariton, John L. and Clifford of Fresno, Calif.
He is also survived by three grandchildren, his father, John Gartin of Chariton, three sisters, Mrs. Andy Morritt of Chariton, Mrs. Arthur Campbell of Derby and Mrs. Rolly Remster of Chugwater, Wyo.; five brothers, Rex of Ogden, Utah, Dewey, John and Harley of Chariton and Archie of Los Angeles, Calif. and a number of nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother on Nov. 12, 1916.
He had suffered many years with asthma. He farmed in Lucas county until 1942 when the family moved to Wyoming for his health. In 1948 they moved to Fresno, Calif, where he lived until his death.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. A. E. Beals, were held Sunday, March 21 at 2 p.m. at the Miley Chapel. Burial was in the Freedom cemetery.
