Linwood Catterton, 69, of Shady Side died Aug. 4, 2009, at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 21, 1940, in Sudley to the late William and Ella Mae Catterton.
He loved spending his early mornings on the water crabbing with his family.
He actively played softball until the age of 65 and was an avid NASCAR fan.
He also enjoyed rooting for his Washington Redskins and working on anything mechanical.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Robert Catterton.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elaine Catterton; son, Karl Catterton and his wife, Carla; granddaughter, Kayte Catterton, all of Shady Side; sister, Shirley Norfolk of Riva; brothers, Norman Catterton of Virginia, Morris Catterton of Churchton, and Wayne Catterton of Deale; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends were received Aug. 6 at the Rausch Funeral Home in Owings.
Memorial services were Aug. 7 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Shady Side.
Interment was at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
Services were officiated by the Rev. Charlotte Hendee.
Pallbearers were Merle Howard, Doug Howard, Rusty Miller, Dmetri Assur, Thomas Hutchins, Kenny Bast, Eric Shim and Norman Catterton.
