Obituary "HARRY S. BOTKIN, 67 MATHERVILLE OFFICIAL, DIES. Harry S. Botkin, 67, village clerk and former businessman of Matherville, died on Wednesday morning, Aug. 24, 1955, in an ambulance in route to Mercer County Hospital. He has been ill for about eighteen months. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2.p.m. at the Crummy Funeral home at Viola. Burial was in the Cable cemetery.
Mr. Botkin was born Jan. 4, 1888 in Ada, Ohio. He was a son of Frank and Molly Clabaugh Botkin. He married Matilda Lilliman on Aug. 20, 1927. Mr. Botkin had lived in Matherville for the last 10 years. He operated a resturant in the village until he became ill. He was of Methodist faith. He was a member of the Matherville Boosters club.
Surviving are two sons, Jack and Charles Botkin, Detroit, Mich., and a step-son, Charles E. Hanser, Matherville."
