Chief Warrant Officer Louis H. Richard Sr., 71, USN retired, died on Jan. 29, 1993, at his home in Biloxi, Miss.

Bos'n Richard was born in Biloxi on Sept. 22, 1921. He served, with distinction, in the Navy for 30 years. He also served during World War II and the Korean conflict, retiring in 1967 to return to Biloxi.

He was a member of the Church of the Redeemer, past president of the Men of the Redeemer, a member of the Vestry and a master Mason in the Grand Lodge, Magnolia Lodge 120 of Mississippi. He belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Elks 606, the Military Order of World Wars, the Retired Officers Association and P.T. Boats Inc. He was a member of the Biloxi Planning Commission, The Tullis-Toledano Board and past president of the Mississippi Coast Historical and Genealogical Society.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eulalie Colbert, on Feb. 9, 1984.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann; a sister, Norma Matina, and a brother, A.E. Richards, both of Biloxi; two daughters; Kathy Dishner of Williamsburg, Va., and Peggy Mitchel of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; two sons, Louis H. Richard Jr. of Mary Esther, Fla. and Everett C. Richard of Ocean Springs, Miss.; four stepchildren, Sueanne Tocci of Springfield, Va., Roger Turner of Flint, Mich., John Turner of East Tawas, Mich., and Jerry Turner of Biloxi; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mass was conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Redeemer in Biloxi, followed by burial in the National Cemetery in Biloxi, with military honors and Masonic rites.

The family requests contributions be made to the Church of the Redeemer Memorial Fund in the name of Louis H. Richard of Biloxi.
