Johannes Brenz was born on June 24, 1499 in Weil der Stadt by Stuttgart. He passed away at the age of 71 on September 11, 1570 in Stuttgart. He was buried under the Altar in the Stiftskirche in Stuttgart. During Renovation in 2000 they found a Zinc Casket with his Remains, thru Modern Technology they were able to Identify His Skull.

He was a German Reformator and a Protestant Theologen. Over his Youth is very little known. In 1514 he Studied at the University of Heidelberg. Martin Luthers Appearance on April 26, 1518 influenced him and they had a strong friendship.

He was married to Margarethe the daughter of The Schwäbisch Hall Informer Caspar Gräter with whom he had 5 Daughters and 1 Son. He married his second wife Katharina whom was the Niece of his Colleague after the death of his first wife. He married her in Dettingen an der Erms.

To his Descendants are Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, Ludwig Uhland, Hermann Hesse und Richard von Weizsäcker.

There is a Church in Weil der Stadt The Place of His Birth which is named after him.
