Death Takes Ethel Criger

Mrs. Ethel Leona Criger, 832 South C St., a resident of Arkansas City vicinity since 1917, died in Memorial Hospital Wednesday afternoon after a serious illness of six months.

Born Nov. 11, 1890, at Potwin, she was the daughter of John Wallace and Myrtie Longstreth White. She was married in Potwin to Charles Everett Criger. They came to this vicinity from Potwin about 45 years ago and settled on a farm southwest of town 23 years ago.

Survivors include 11 sons and daughters, Albert Criger, 832 South C. St., Robert Criger, 322 N. Ninth St., William Criger, State Rooms, Mrs. Paul (Gloria) Hunter, 612 N. Seventh St., and Mrs. Herbert (Roberta) Sympson, 606 S. Seventh St., all of Arkansas City; Alvie Criger and Mrs. Jack (Vivian) Foust, Blackwell; Mrs. Jack (Myrtle) Martin, Hunnewell; Mrs. Richard (Leona) Asbell and Mrs. Vernon (Elizabeth) Bailey, Wichita; and Mrs. Al (Irma) Warner, Denver. There are also two brothers, surviving, Clyde White, Rt. 4, and Merle White, Caldwell; 25 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. One son, Charles, died at the age of 12 on Nov. 18, 1943.

Funeral services will be Friday, 2:30 p.m., in the Morris-Crates Mortuary with the Rev. Mark Foster of Newkirk officiating. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery.
