Mrs Calhoun Rites Wednesday
Mrs Minnie Wisner Calhoun, 88, widow of James Manley Calhoun, died at 12:10 pm Sunday in the home of her daughter, Mrs A.H.Ellett, 118 South Willow. Mrs Calhoun was a pioneer resident of the community, living in McPherson and Lincoln Counties the past 27 years. She came to McPherson County in 1890, where the family homesteaded north of Tryon. She moved to a farm north of North Platte in 1908, living there until 10 years ago. She taught school for many years. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs William Splinter and Mrs Ellett, both of North Platte; four sons; James M. of Hershey; William W. of North Platte; Cecil C. of Buhl, Idaho; Alva B. of Seattle, Washington; 19 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Burial will be in the North Platte Cemetery.
