Obituary in the Dallas co. News Apr 30, 1958 p.2. Henry Harrison Akes, youngest of eight children of Henry Harrison Sr. and Emily Akes, was born May 27, 1868 near McFall, Mo. and passed away April 22, 1958 at Deter, Iowa. On Jan 24, 1891 he was united in marriage to Sadie Giles also of McFalls.

To this union were born five children, the first of whom passed away at the age of 19 months. At an early age he joined the Baptist Church at McFall, later transferring membership to Gallatin where he and his family lived for several years. Most of his life was spent as a farmer in Gentry and Daviess Counties in Missouri, but in ? he moved to Adel where he lived until his death. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Sadie, three sons, Elva of Santa Rosa, Mo. Chester of Jamesport, Mo, Orville of Dennis, Kan., and one daughter, Mrs. Robert Miller of Adel. Five grandchildren and many other relatives and friends

Among those attending the funeral services of the late H. H. Akes last Friday at McFall, Mo were Dr. Leonard Akes and family of Fairview, New Mexico; Mrs. Lyle Carson and son from Augustia Kansas. Orville Akes of Dennis, Kan.; Fred Akes of Kansas City, Mo; Richard Folbert from St. Joseph, Mo., Adel folks were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wicks, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Bricker, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bricker, Mr. and Mrs. E, L. Shipley, Carl Marshall and Ray Payne.
