Mrs. Wright was a daughter of the late Gen. A. C. Niven, for many years Sullivan County's leading lawyer. She was born in Monticello about fifty-five years ago, and all her life, with the exception of a few years when she lived in Buffalo, was spent there. Her husband, Dr. William B. Wright, died about fifteen years ago. She is survived by one brother, Thornton A. Niven, Esq., of Monticello.
Mrs. Wright was a woman of unusual force of character and her life was adorned by all the christian graces. She was more than charitable and gave freely of her means to every worthy cause. For years she was a leader in the life of Monticello and her influence was always for good. Her death leaves a vacant place in that village and she will be mourned by many outside of her family circle.
The funeral will be held Friday

It appears there are gravestones for Mary in two different cemeteries. According to the funeral notice for Mary Niven Wright, she is buried in the Hamptonburgh cemetery alongside her husband, but there also appears to be a marker for her next to her parents in Rock Ridge cemetery, according to gravestone transcriptions by Gertrude Barber in 1930.
