out and were taken as POWs. KIA were:


SSGT William K Oxby, Ball Turret Gunner

SSGT Floyd E Callen, Waist Gunner

SSGT George F Hanson, Tail Gunner

TSGT Thomas F Harris, F/E Top Turret Gunner

TSGT Frank W Holman, Radio Operator

Staff Sergeant William Oxby served in the 322 Bombardment Squadron,91st Bombardment Group during World War II. On November 2, 1944, he was the ball turret gunner on a B-17,"Man O War II" on a mission to bomb a synthetic oil plant at Merseburg, Germany. His Flying Fortress was hit by enemy fire and was shot down. Staff Sergeant Oxby was killed during this action.
