John Tritle was a veteran of World War I. After the war he farmed near Alburnett, Linn County, Iowa. He first married Vivian M. Billings. They were later divorced and in 1947 he married Jessie Yauslin Johnson. They remained married the duration of their lives. John was first a farmer, and later a carpenter and painter. He was an avid organic gardener. He was a wonderful grandfather.
