Sarah Desta Flynn Ping, 74 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, February 8th, 2010 at Britthaven Nursing Home in Somerset.
Sarah was born in Wayne County, Kentucky on November 28th, 1935, daughter of the late John Flynn and Flora Flynn. She retired from Palm Beach and was a member of Parkers Mill Baptist Church. She was faithful to her Church and family.
Sarah was survived by one daughter, Beverly (and Twig) Weigel of Somerset, Kentucky; one grandson, Stephen Weigel of Somerset, Kentucky, to whom she was very dedicated and loving; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Round Ping, whom she married on January 9th, 1960 and who departed this life on November 17th, 2008; her parents, John and Flora Flynn; three brothers, Arville Flynn, Farrell Flynn, and Archie Flynn; and two sisters, Alta Edwards and Katheryn Ping.
Visitations were held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11th, 2010 at the Pulaski Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12th, 2010 in the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Dr. Greg Ryan officiating.
Burial followed in the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Kentucky.
