Harvey Zeinstra was born to Peter and Winnie (VanderWoude) Zeinstra on November 2, 1935 on the family farm in Fountain Prairie Township of Pipestone County, Minnesota where he was raised and attended country school. On October 29, 1954, he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Raph in the Presbyterian Church in Holland, Minnesota. Following their marriage, they lived in Holland where he was employed as a farm laborer and started trucking. When they moved to Pipestone in 1958, Harvey was employed for the City of Pipestone. In 1960, he started truck driving; and in 1965, he opened and operated his own trucking firm know as Zeinstra Trucking until his health prevented him in May of 1994. He was first diagnosed as having lung cancer in May, 1993. His cancer reoccurred this past May. On December 12, 1994, he was admitted to McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he died early Friday morning, January 27, 1995 at the age of 59 years, 2 months and 25 days.

Harvey was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Pipestone.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Carol Zeinstra of Pipestone, Minnesota; five children, Sheryl Kelly of Omaha, Nebraska, Harlan and his wife Mary (Stavenger) Zeinstra of Shorewood, Minnesota, DeeDee Zeinstra of Pipestone, Minnesota, Kathy and her husband Daniel Moser of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Larry and his wife Sabrina (Matthews) Zeinstra of Pipestone, Minnesota; ten grandchildren; three brothers, Felix Zeinstra of Holland, Minnesota, Floyd Zeinstra of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Bernard Zeinstra of Holland, Minnesota; and two sisters, Claretta, Mrs. Bart Baartman of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Pearl, Mrs. Keith Pritchett of Pipestone, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant brother, Melvin Zeinstra; and two sisters, Alvera Klingbile and Sylvia Overgaauw.
