Brink Farmer Passes at 52
Belding - Dexter Richmond, 52, well known farmer in the Brink neighborhood, died Saturday afternoon at Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids, following his admittance Monday and surgery Tuesday.
A native of Grattan township, Kent county, Mr. Richmond was born Nov. 14, 1896, the son of Sidney and Caroline Richmond. He was a Past Master of Grattan Lodge, F. & A. M. 196.
He is survived by his wife, the former Goldie Casner Sly, to whom he was married in Belding, Dec. 9, 1931. Other survivors are a step-son, Forrest Sly of Jackson; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Guthy of Venice, Cal., Mrs. Bonnie Richmond of Grattan, and Mrs. Daisy VanWormer of Belding; four brothers, Lucian Richmond, Tujunga, Cal., Edmond Saunders, Petaluma, Cal., Virgil Richmond, Metuchen, N.J. and Arista Richmond, Belding.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock from the Ellis Funeral Chapel, where the body has reposed since Saturday afternoon. Rev. H.S. Ellis will officiate and the grave services will be under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge. Interment will be made in River Ridge.
