Martha Matt and May, twins, were born July 14, 1872 in Graves County, Kentucky, and were the first of ten children born to Macinda Belle and Wilson Howard.. They were very young when the family removed with their five children to Arkansas. The other five children were born in Indian Territory Chickasaw Nation after the family settled there. Not a lot is known of the twin girl's youth, but it has been told that they did most of the cooking in the household while another sister did all the sewing as the family grew. In the 1900 Indian Territory Census, the twins were married and with their husbands were living next door to each other.

Matt married William Berry Crow, December 1888 in Nocona, Montague County, Texas. To that marriage 9 children were born; of the 9 children, 6 lived to maturity.
1) Sara Belle Crow was born January 2, 1890 in Indian Territory, Oklahoma. She married Edward Alfonzo Stallings. Belle died July 9, 1981 and is buried in Oklahoma.

2) William Earl Crow was born February 27, 1893 and died July 7, 1970. He married Ida Virginia Chism. Two Crow brothers married two Chism sisters.

3) Francis Melvin Crow born October 2, 1894 in Indian Territory Oklahoma; died May 22, 1970 in Hamlin, Jones County, Texas; buried in Oney, Albert County Oklahoma. He married Mary Almeda Chism, sister-in-law of his brother Earl.

4) John Evert Crow was born February 28, 1898 in Dill City, Indian Territory, Oklahoma. Evert died June 11, 1977 in Hamlin, Texas. Evert served in the Navy CB's. He married (1) Bessie Braswell (2) Brennie Potter.

5) Mary Lou Crow was born February 1900 in Indian Territory, Oklahoma and died 1905.

6) Delmer Dewy Crow was born January 12, 1902 in Dill City, Indian Territory, Oklahoma. Delmer married Fay Prather. Delmer "Slim" died April 21, 1989 in Hamlin, Texas.

7) Ira Crow was born February 29, 1904 and died in 1910.

8) Violet Crow was born July 22, 1905 and died August 27, 1976. Violet married Edward Lockhart.

9) Eddie Crow was born 1907; died by 1910.

Shortly after the ninth child was born and died, Matt was shown as "head of household" in the Montague County Texas 1910 Federal Census. The twin sister May and her family lived next door. About 1919 Matt took her children by train to Hamlin, Texas to live. William Berry died October 25, 1929 in Hamlin, Texas, where he is buried.

Matt married (2) Lemuel B. Revell, May 8, 1926; no children were born to this union. Lem was buried in Abilene, Texas. Matt died December 1, 1949 in Hamlin, Jones County, Texas, and is buried in the Hamlin East Cemetery.
