"Mrs. McHaffie Dies on Coast.
Mrs. Frank McHaffie, 72, a Missoula resident from 1892 until about 1934, died at Los Angeles hospital
from a heart attack Friday, according to word received by Mrs. C. R. Prescott, 1004 Francis avenue.
Born Nellie Williamson in North Dakota [sic], she came here with her husband in 1892. They owned several houses and other property here including a bookstore at the corner of North Higgins avenue and Spruce street.
After leaving for California some fifteen years ago, they visited the Garden city every year, renewing old acquaintances and taking care of business interests here. Mr. McHaffie died about seven years ago in Los Angeles.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce of Carmarillo, Cal., and Stuart of Los Angeles; a daughter, Ruth Robinson of East Los Angeles; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial will be at Los Angeles."

Final rites for Mrs. Frank McHaffie, former Missoula resident who died at Los Angeles hospital Saturday, were conducted at 12 noon Tuesday at the Little Church of the Flowers at Forest Lawn cemetery, Los Angeles. Burial was in Forest Lawn.
Mrs. McHaffie came to Missoula as a bride in 1893. Her husband died in Long Beach October 9, 1941. She was president of the Missoula Presbyterian Ladies Aid society for several years. She was the first president of the local American Legion auxiliary and was its first delegate to the national organization's convention.
In Long Beach she was president of the department of business and protective law of the Ebell club and had recently been re-elected for the coming year. She was an active member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church of Long Beach. The McHaffies left Missoula about 1934."
